Position Overview - Our Fleet and Solid Waste Department has an auxiliary job opportunity for an Operations Coordinator to cover maternity leave. In this role you will perform a variety of complex and technical administrative support work; assist managers in developing and controlling budgets; monitor and analyze costs; research and make recommendations for the improvement of program, financial and business and processes; liaise with a variety of internal contacts and provide direction to staff. The ability to exercise considerable independent judgement is an essential skill.
- Research information related to work and develop recommendations for modifications, improvements and new processes.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of reports.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and maintain excellent communication with a variety of internal contacts.
- Effectively respond to work related questions and issues as they arise.
- Assign and review work and provide direction and guidance to clerical and/or technical staff.
- Perform tasks with limited supervision.
