City Experiences is seeking a Facilities Shift Manager for our City Cruises operation in Niagara Falls, ON.

About the Opportunity:


The
Facilities Shift Manager is a hands-on manager responsible for ensuring that all buildings, structures, properties, and equipment are in good working order and visually appealing at all times.

This includes the ticket plaza and the group booth, the lower landing, administrative offices, warehouse, vehicles, elevators, and funicular.

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, the Facilities Shift Manager will learn and acquire the necessary training and skills needed to become a certified Ski Lift Mechanic.

They will maintain a training passport while they learn to troubleshoot and repair any mechanical issues that arise and show progress towards a Ski Lift Mechanic - Certification.

The Facilities Shift Manager will oversee that all cleaning, painting, repairing, renovating, and remodeling is done in an efficient and safe manner.

In this role, the Facilities Shift Manager will ensure that projects are completed as directed.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Supports Marine, Guest Experience, Safety Services, Food, Beverage & Retail, and all other departments with projects, maintenance and operations as required.
  • Prepares and manages schedules and delegates work assignments
  • Provides performance feedback, coaching, development
  • Assists with recruiting and onboarding of Facilities team members
  • Ensures that all Crew have completed the required in house training and that it is correctly documented
  • Together with the Manager, Facilities, creates and enforces preventative maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Responsible for the safe working condition and regular maintenance of all equipment, machinery, and motor vehicles
  • Responsible for departmental inventory control and ensures that all working locations have all the required supplies
  • Ensures all tasks; daily, monthly, and quarterly are planned, assigned and logged for the department
  • Records and maintains a documentation system tracking all job duties and inspections
  • Looks for new and more efficient ways to perform recurring tasks
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Knows and understands internal policy and external regulatory requirements that relate to the position and department
  • Maintains a high customer service level
  • Works with a safety mindset by ensuring that employees follow all safety policies and procedures. Takes overall responsibility and accountability for the prevention of workrelated injuries and/or illness by identifying and communicating risks, hazards, and opportunities on the job. Provides necessary measures (i.e. PPE) and allocates resources to keep the workplace safe
  • Maintains a neat, clean and wellgroomed appearance (refer to appearance standards in employee handbook)
  • Reports to work on time and for all scheduled shifts
  • Understands all Niagara City Cruises' policies and procedures relating to the employee's role within the company
  • Maintains any applicable licenses and certifications
  • Completes any other duties as assigned

Funicular

  • Performs repairs and maintenance of the Niagara City Cruises Funicular as permitted by their passport
  • Ensures the safe and efficient operation of the Funicular
  • Completes start up and shut down procedures
  • Assists with identifying and troubleshooting any deficiencies and responds accordingly
  • Works closely with other team members or contractors to ensure mechanical issues are addressed quickly
  • Communicates updates on Funicular repairs, shutdowns and restarts to appropriate parties
  • Works closely with the Manager, Facilities to complete duties and work assignments
  • Operates the funicular as required
  • Maintains all equipment to manufacturer's specifications and Technical Standards and Safety Authority (T.S.S.A.) specifications
  • Knows and understands internal policy and external regulatory requirements that relate to the position and department

General Maintenance / Cleaner

  • Performs various duties such as cleaning, painting, fixing, repairing, troubleshooting minor problems
  • Basic carpentry and masonry work
  • Completes work using logs, inspection forms, and maintenance databases in preparation for ISO audits (as required)
  • Works closely with the Manager, Facilities to complete duties and work assignments
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Operates large scale machinery such as forklifts and telehandler (as required)
  • Responsible for delegation or completion of any repairs or maintenance required in the lower landing, group booth, ticket plaza, administration building or warehouse

Requirements & Qualifications:


  • O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
  • Minimum 3 y
