    Job Overview

    Reporting to the Senior Director Finance, the Director–Accounting is responsible for managing the company's accounting and reporting functions, ensuring all compliance requirements are met and providing strategic insight to the business within his/her area of expertise. He/she will oversee the accurate recording, measuring and reporting of all financial transactions and compliance with corporate accounting policies, will provide an effective internal control environment, and will coordinate all external audits.

    The Director-Accounting will lead a team of 11 people in the accounting, reporting, billing & collections, and accounts payable functions.

    Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (both legal entity and management reported results);
  • Supervise period-close process; timely reporting in compliance with Corporate directives and local requirements;
  • Understand, interpret and ensure strict adherence to Corporate Accounting Policies / US GAAP;
  • Interface with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to ensure seamless understanding of financials;
  • Provide strategic accounting/business advice;
  • Prepare year-end pension fund audit file;
  • Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly tax provisions and the annual tax return, including annual R&D credit application if required
  • Interface Corporate tax and other corporate Finances functions
  • Manage all internal/external financial audits as well as ensuring compliance with SOX controls;
  • Oversee relationships with government authorities (example taxation)
  • Direct the billing and collection functions of the corporation and manage the DSO;
  • Supervise the A/P function and oversee procurement functions;
  • Structure and document transfer pricing arrangements;
  • Maintain and improve existing internal controls;
  • Participate in due diligence and execute acquisition integration;
  • Understand and manage master data decisions
  • Provide for continuous improvement of workflows / process flows;
  • Provide leadership and management in the areas of performance management, coaching, and training;
  • Assume responsibility for special projects / ad hoc requests.

    • Qualifications

  • A CPA designation is required;
  • Experience in an accounting firm is an asset;
  • A minimum of 10 years in a similar managerial position, preferably in a multinational company;
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards/US GAAP and sound judgment in the application of rules and policies;
  • Strategic, proactive and energetic. Enjoys working with others, learning and sharing knowledge both inside and outside of Finance;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proven track record of accomplishments / agent of change;
  • Strong Excel skills, an interest in systems and reporting tools, SAP experience preferred;
  • Ability to lead and motivate team;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work with both internal and external clients;
  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines;

    Le directeur ou la directrice de la comptabilité dirigera une équipe de 11 personnes dans les domaines de la comptabilité, des rapports, de la facturation et de la perception, et des comptes fournisseurs.

    Responsabilités :

  • Préparer des états financiers mensuels, trimestriels et annuels avec exactitude (résultats signalés par l'entité juridique et par la direction);
  • Superviser le processus de clôture des périodes; fournir des rapports en temps opportun conformément aux directives de l'entreprise et aux exigences locales;
  • Comprendre, interpréter et assurer le strict respect des politiques comptables de l'entreprise/du PCGR;
  • Communiquer avec l'équipe de planification et d'analyse financières pour assurer une compréhension transparente des finances;
  • Fournir des conseils stratégiques en comptabilité/affaires;
  • Préparer le dossier d'audit de fin d'année du fonds de pension;
  • Préparer les dispositions fiscales trimestrielles et la déclaration de revenus annuelle, y compris une demande de crédit pour la recherche et le développement, le cas échéant;
  • Communiquer avec l'équipe responsable des impôts sur les bénéfices des sociétés et d'autres équipes du Service des finances;
  • Gérer tous les audits des états financiers internes/externes et assurer le respect des contrôles SOX;
  • Superviser les relations avec les autorités gouvernementales (p. ex., fiscalité)
  • Diriger la facturation et la perception de l'entreprise et gérer le délai moyen de recouvrement des créances clients;
  • Superviser les comptes fournisseurs et superviser les fonctions d'approvisionnement;
  • Structurer et documenter les accords en matière de fixation des prix de cession;
  • Maintenir et améliorer les contrôles internes existants;
  • Participer à la diligence raisonnable et réaliser l'intégration des acquisitions;
  • Comprendre et gérer les décisions relatives aux données maîtresses;
  • Assurer l'amélioration continue des flux des travaux/flux de production;
  • Assurer le leadership et la gestion dans les domaines de la gestion du rendement, de l'accompagnement professionnel et de la formation;
  • Assumer la responsabilité de projets spéciaux/demandes ad hoc.

    • Compétences

  • Titre de CPA requis;
  • Expérience en cabinet comptable, un atout;
  • Minimum de 10 ans d'expérience dans un poste de direction similaire, de préférence dans une entreprise multinationale;
  • Solide connaissance des normes comptables/PCGR et bon jugement dans l'application des règles et politiques;
  • Stratégique, proactif et énergique. Capacité à travailler avec les autres, apprendre et partager des connaissances tant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur du Service des finances;
  • Excellente compétence en analyse et résolution de problèmes;
  • Expérience avérée de réalisations/agent de changement;
  • Solides compétences dans Excel, intérêt pour les systèmes et les outils de rapports, expérience avec SAP préférée;
  • Capacité à diriger et motiver une équipe;
  • Excellentes compétences en communication, tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral;
  • Solides compétences interpersonnelles;
  • Capacité à travailler avec des clients internes et externes;
  • Capacité à établir des priorités, à travailler sous pression et à respecter les délais;
  • Esprit d'équipe et excellente organisation du travail;
