    Reporting to the Director, Financial Services, the Manager, Federal Contributions and Relations (Manager) develops, negotiates, implements, and manages agreements between the Government of Nunavut (GN) and the Federal Government and third parties which include other GN departments, Crown Corporations and Municipalities related to investments in transformative public infrastructure in Nunavut. The Manager advises on contract negotiations and documentation, and complete internal/external reporting requirements. This position provides objective analysis, support and advice to capital planning decision makers in various GN departments for federal funding programs. These strategic infrastructure projects will result in improved intercommunity mobility, socio-economic opportunities and more resilient infrastructure across the Territory.

    The Manager works with staff across the Department of Community and Government Services, as well as staff from other departments and Crown Corporations to coordinate and obtain input in developing applications for federal funding and undertake associated planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and other financial requirements. The Manager will often present the results of their work to Senior Managers and the Deputy Minister oversight committees. The Manager manages the human and financial resources of the Federal Contributions and Relations Unit and works independently with minimal supervision.

    The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized relevant degree, along with five (5) years of financial management experience, including contracts and financial analysis. One (1) year of progressive supervisory or management experience is required. A CPA designation will be considered an asset.

    The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in two or more of Nunavut's official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
