The Alma Mater Society (AMS) is the University of British Columbia's (UBC) student society, and works to improve the academic, social and personal lives of the 56,000 UBC students at its Vancouver campus.
The AMS also runs nine food and beverage outlets, a catering and conference operation, and the AMS Student Nest, providing on-campus employment opportunities and generating revenue that goes directly back into supporting the students at UBC.

Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to perform various revenue functions, reports preparation, invoice and payment processing, office equipment maintenance, backfilling office functions, and other administrative duties.
Duties & Responsibilities- Verify and balance daily revenue transactions against deposit summaries, ensure transactions are correct and duly recorded including investigation of unusual variances.
- Prepare various operational and variance reports such as Daily Revenue and Labour, Cashier Overage/Shortage and Voids.
- Perform revenue functions: preparation of invoice, process credit card payments and cheque deposits
- Maintaining accounts receivable records and following up on outstanding rents.
- Perform various clerical duties such as cheque stamping, invoice verification, and coding.
- Maintain office equipment, printer, combination lock codes, and key supply
- Download telephone charges and allocate charges to the respective departments.
- Download credit/debit charges and journal them to their respective departments.
- Backfilling support of other administrative positions (particularly Cashier and Reception)
- Perform other general administrative duties as assigned from time to time.

- High school graduation plus two years post
- Experience with computer operations (data entry, excel spreadsheets, Outlook)
- Ability to perform basic reconciliations.
- Some basic accounting knowledge required.
- Ability to operate office equipment (copiers, postage machine, etc)
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a changing environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to effectively deal with the public and staff
