Role Description

Responsibilities

  • Process transactions, invoices, A/R and A/P for property management (PM). (i.e. From rent to Balance to owner and all related expense).
  • Prepare monthly statements to owners.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations on balance held in trust.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation of PM trust account(s).
  • Review paperwork submitted by property managers for compliance.
  • Support processes for interim and yearend external audit related to PM trust account(s).
  • Support adhoc and various projects as they arise.


This role has opportunity to grow into a Junior accountant position and for those wanting to move upwards into the CPA program later.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year related experience in accounting/bookkeeping/A/P/A/R work.
  • Strong organizational, time management, problemsolving and analytical skills
  • A strong work ethic, detailed oriented. ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, and prioritize
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to effectively partner and liaise with all levels of the business and develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with internal team members and external contacts
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and places priority on client service
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Prior experience with accounting software is an asset.
  • Prior experience dealing with trust account(s) is an asset.
