General Accountability:


  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects while ensuring consistency with applicable strategies, commitments and goals. This position is accountable for ontime, on budget and successful delivery of assigned projects.

Key Job Functions:


  • Facilitates the defining of the project scope, goals and deliverables for various Fare Collection related projects ranging from large to small and longterm to shortterm from initial planning to completion
  • Leads project communication initiatives to ensure that all project team members have an understanding of roles and delivery responsibilities
  • Monitors project progress against the project plan, requirements, quality measures, and milestones
  • Implements and participates in regular reviews to ensure that project objectives and quality assurance standards are adhered to and met
  • Manages project budgets and holds review meetings with immediate manager and others as required to ensure project budget adherence
  • Plans, oversees, coordinates and monitors cost control activities (both incurred to date and forecast expenditures) related to ongoing projects
  • Acts to resolve issues of cost inconsistencies between base documentation and budget submission documents with project staff
  • Prepares appropriate project progress reports, project status reports, long range financial forecasts, budgeting rollups and variance analysis; and other financial / budgetary related reports
  • Responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within the area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a serviceprovider and an employee

    Education and Experience:
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration or related discipline; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent, combined with progressively responsible project management experience and demonstrated experience in budgeting and cost control
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation is considered an asset
  • Experience with Fare Collection implementations is considered an asset
