Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified VFD field technician to remove, reinstall repaired VFD systems and new VFD systems for our clients primary in the greater GTA.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of VFD units out in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meeting with clients to discuss their VFD electrical needs.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and commissioning VFD units at clients' locations.
- Providing basic VFD instructions and equipment training.
- Responding to equipment breakdowns.
- Testing, calibrating, and repairing damaged VFD units.
- Advising on equipment upgrades.
- Maintaining field instrumentation and equipment.
- Completing work orders and maintaining strong customer relations.
- Assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
- Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Specifying of electrical supplies and equipment.
- Experience working with electrical and electronic testing equipment.
- Performing new installations and repair work on electrical equipment and wiring.
- Reporting on and recommending improvements to electrical & mechanical equipment.
- Experience examining, repairs including maintenance assistance with high voltage electrical equipment when required.
- Developing & managing work orders, logs, and all other documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
- Certified Electrician 309A or 442 and member of IBEW union.
- Proven work experience as a VFD field technician.
- Indepth knowledge of VFD electrical systems.
- Experience with calibration devices and field metering equipment.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with high voltage electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting/analytical experiences, and ability to interact with customers a must.
