We are looking for our next Distribution Manager supporting the Supply Chain and Warehouse Distribution Team, in Mississauga, Ontario Canada.

As a Distribution Manager you will be responsible to Lead/Manage the functions of shipping, receiving, custom paks assembly, inventory control, re-turns, and cycle counting.

Develop strategic direction for the Canadian distribution operations including implementation of same.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Planning and controlling production schedules and coordinating with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials
  • Estimating and scheduling the human resources, tools, and equipment needed for the production process Researching, evaluating, and recommending changes to production processes, systems, technology, or equipment to enhance organization's production capabilities
- (40%) Monitor all product distribution functions through two distribution warehouses in Mississauga and Calgary and prioritize team members work to ensure efficient and effective operations. Manage and maintain satisfactory results for all performance metrics (warehouse KPI's such as order accuracy, on time delivery performance, inventory - cycle count performance and metrics) Staff Performance Management and Development
- (20%) Ensure company and legal regulations, ethical standards, health & safety, GMP and NFCM controls are in place and being followed through ongoing monitoring, coaching, and training
- (30%) Develop, track, and make appropriate changes/corrections to annual Distribution budgets. Manage ongoing activities to achieve cost control/reductions within the budget scope
- (10%) Interface with other SMU Heads, Distribution Heads, and Functional Leaders to formulate strategies and implement tactical solutions for achievement of corporate objectives (process improvements, capacity increases, etc.)


What you'll bring to Alcon:

  • Minimum: College diploma in technical or business field coupled with APICS certification as CPIM or equivalent
  • Preferred: University Degree in Commerce or Business
