Your opportunity:


Information & Instructional Technology Services (I&ITS) is a high-volume service delivery operation, processing over 15,000 incident, change, and service requests annually, and is the principal/primary support for the teaching, learning, and research mission at UTM.

We are recruiting IT professionals who will enthusiastically contribute to the pursuit and execution of I&ITS' three priorities of client-centricity, administrative and operational excellence, and team cohesion.


This role will interact with a broad range of projects and portfolios, from digital transformation, to large capital projects and renovations.

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Influencing and identifying unarticulated business needs
  • Working with clients to develop solutions that help them realize their business goals
  • Planning the implementation of solutions that grow or transform their business
  • Writing complex specifications based on client needs
  • Project planning, tracking, and execution
  • Providing advice and data to support the development of business cases and analytics for departmental initiatives
  • Product research and environmental scans for solutions and products that meet our client needs

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Science, Computer Science, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum four years' experience deploying and operationalizing new systems in a large, complex organization
  • Solid background in computer technology, delivering IT projects and services
  • Demonstrated experience in business process analysis, identifying waste and pain points, and new service design
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing design specifications, and coordinating feedback from campus partners and consultants
  • Demonstrated experience creating documentation for new and existing solutions
  • Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to gather requirements, track action items, and problem solve issues
  • Excellent analytical, logístical, and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills, and the ability to distill complex ideas for nontechnical clients
  • Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet strict deadlines

Assets (Nonessential):


  • ITIL foundations level (or higher) certification
  • Familiarity with Lean process design
  • PMP, CBAP or similar PMI/IIBA credentials
  • Previous working experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience working with the ServiceNow platform
