    About the Position:



    We're looking for a Registered Nurse:

    • Deliver top-notch nursing care to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency patients, both independently and as part of a team
    • Improve the quality of life for patients and families; collaborate with other healthcare providers
    • Show continuous improvement and evidence-based practices in nursing
    • Enhance own clinical skills
    • Contribute to hospital committees/teams and research projects as assigned
    This is a fantastic FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITY until November 17, 2024.

    Work shifts will rotate between days and nights, from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.

    About the Unit:

    The Intensive Care Unit has 3 beds, responsible for cardiac monitoring of up to 3 telemetry patients.

    The department recently received ceiling lifts for all beds. Our staffing ratio is 1 RN per 12-hour shift, with additional support available when needed. Our team of physicians and nurses work together smoothly, with regular meal and coffee breaks.

    The Emergency Department comprises 14 beds, including treatment bays, monitored beds, trauma bays, and specialized rooms.

    They receive about 26,000 visits annually and are equipped with cutting-edge technology like a Space Labs Cardiac Monitoring System and a Procedural Cart System, focused on bringing services directly to the patient.

    Shuswap Lake General Hospital (SLGH) offers 24-hour emergency services, laboratory and radiology services, acute care beds, and obstetrical care. Core physician specialties include internal medicine and general surgery.
