Your role


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Budgeting and Internal Reporting, Unscripted Programming, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and analysis.

This will include month end close support, preparation and management of budgets & forecasts, and detailed analysis of monthly costs.


Provides a high degree of expertise, guidance and support, in keeping with the activities of English Services Finance, Budgeting and Internal Reporting team for Unscripted content including linear and digital platforms.

Including daily maintenance of highly specialized and customized reports to assist operational management in efficiently managing financial resources and the decision making process for all levels of management.


Responsibilities:


  • Spear head monthly, quarterly and annual close, which includes working with production teams to prepare and review detailed accruals.
  • Maintain production telecast for Documentary and Factual programming while ensuring costs are being recorded in SAP accordingly.
  • Preparation and maintenance of monthly reporting package.
  • Review the monthly financial results and provide business reasons for any variances to the budget.
  • Review monthly cash flow requirements and future monthly estimates in line with production slate and schedules
  • Develop processes and procedures to improve accuracy of accruals and forecasts.
  • Liaison with finance for all month end requirements.
  • Ad Hoc reporting and analysis as required by management.
  • Review, maintain and update documentation for sound accounting practices and procedures, while ensuring adequate internal controls.
  • Assists in the monitoring of adherence to policies, procedures and guidelines pertaining to controls in the Financial Systems. Provides feedback to management where necessary and assists in the implementation of appropriate changes.
  • Must be capable of interpreting and reorganizing data and information of a highly complex nature for presentation to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Position requires an individual capable of handling multiple priorities and demands. Incumbent must exercise sound judgment, take initiative and focus on tasks. Position also requires the ability to evaluate problems and propose effective, viable solutions.
  • At least three years' experience in a financial analysis environment or related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in all areas of financial reporting and accounting and working understanding of IFRS.
  • Proven experience with various software packages in delivering reports and projects, including SAP, BW and Excel.
  • Capacity to interpret and reorganize data and information of a complex nature for presentation to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Able to interact and communicate with peers as well as management of several departments.
  • Must have extremely high level of accuracy with excellent attention to details.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as within a team.
  • Flexibility, superior organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Confidentiality is a must as you will work with sensitive information.
  • Requires a university or college degree.
  • Professional accounting designation (or currently working towards) is an asset.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be capable of working effectively with management at all levels.
  • Must have very strong computer skills including Excel (pivot tables, v lookups)
