Job Description:

What is the role?

The Junior Financial Analyst will support the Supply Chain Finance Manager.

The key elements of this role are:

budget accruals (support Manager, Supply Chain Finance and Accounts Payable with month-end closings), processing and monitoring Capital Expenditures, participating in annual budgeting cycle, preparing weekly/monthly financial and operational KPIs and Monthly Financial Performance Analytics to support the Supply Chain Team members directly.

The incumbent will also support Inventory Manager and warehouse managers with inventory related analysis to improve inventory accuracy and inventory process efficiency.

What will you do?

Work closely with supply chain managers and accounts payable team to ensure all vendor invoices are duly authorized and appropriately coded
Support monthend close and prepare accrual entries
Coordinate with financial planning team and supply chain managers for capital purchase requests
Work with various departments to ensure root cause issues impacting expenses are identified, addressed, understood, and resolved
Investigate and analyze discrepancies on distribution and transportation expenses vs. last year, budget or forecast
Streamline the process and provide insights in areas for improvement
Ad-Hoc analysis and special projects, as assigned

What will you need to succeed?

Education and Experience

Undergraduate university degree; eager to develop career in finance field
Finance/Accounting experience is an asset
Supply Chain knowledge is an asset
Advanced Excel skills and data management skills

Strong analytical skills and logical thinking skills
Must be able to operate in a team environment
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Experience using MS Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, & Excel (filtering, sorting, formatting, using basic formulas)
