Who we are ?
La Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec is owned by its fourteen member co-ops in the Inuit communities of Nunavik.

FCNQ was established in 1967 to provide the rapidly growing cooperative movement with more effective powers and services to help attain their vision "Atautsikut" Together—working to develop as a people, leaving none behind.


Responsibilities:


Under the supervision of the manager, you will participate in the compilation of data as well as the reconciliation and monthly accounting entries of the accounts.

You will also participate in the execution of administrative work.

  • Provide accounting support for cooperative post office operations;
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations for cooperatives;
  • Ensure monitoring of municipal taxes to be paid by cooperatives and make the corresponding GL entries;
  • Ensure the monitoring of leases to be paid by the cooperatives for the 14 villages and make the corresponding GL entries;
  • Monthly reconciliations of the GL account of money transfers from the FCNQ to the coops;
  • Produce the worksheets necessary for developing the annual budgets of cooperatives;
  • Preparation of presentation booklets for annual and semiannual cooperative reports;
  • Provide support and support the department manager with general administrative tasks such as: general correspondence, contracts and real estate leases;
  • Monitor rental income payments and reconcile accounts relating to real estate leases;
  • Analysis of G/L accounts and reconciliation of any related accounts
  • Production of documents for annual audits at the request of auditors;
  • Provide administrative and accounting support for special projects;
  • Any other related task to meet the needs of cooperatives and their employees or at the request of the manager.

Requirements:


  • College diploma in accounting;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Must be able to communicate in French and English, both orally and in writing;
  • Demonstrate organization and precision in your work;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.

**Note:
WORK CONDITIONS

  • Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week;
  • Occasionally travel to the Nunavik region.
