About the Position


As a member of the counselling team at Family Services Ottawa (FSO) and under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Counsellor will be responsible for providing direct counselling services to clients across FSO counselling programs with a focus on counselling children.

The counsellor participates in clinical supervision and consultation, and performs any related additional duties as required. Evening work (a minimum of one evening a week) is required. Occasional Saturdays may be scheduled based on program requirements.

About You

You have completed a master's degree in social work, counselling, psychotherapy or equivalent.

You are a member of a regulatory college (OCSWSSW, CRPO) and maintain the right to practice the controlled act of psychotherapy within the province of Ontario.

You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

You have three (3) years of counselling experience (preferred) and experience working with children in a social services/community setting.

  • Legal entitlement to work permanently in Canada.
  • Current full immunization to Covid1
  • Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to FSO
  • Subject always to FSO's duty to accommodate under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
