General Description
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to the Mississauga & Barrie Technical Sales Representatives. Working closely with the TSR's to develop customer solutions and plans to help grow the GTA area customer base.

They will work closely with the Vendor Solution Team to engage technical solutions for key customers and help to manage key customer projects.


Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy with each Sales Representative for their top 20 accounts and top 20 target accounts which will include a review of sales history, market verticals, product categories and target market
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Sales Representatives. Provide overall sales leadership through coaching, mentoring and motivation to ensure sales goals are achieved, objectives and action plans completed to maximize revenue and profitability
  • Conducts oneonone review with all Sales Reps to build more effective communication, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for improvement of the sales reps activity performance. This will include joint sales calls with Area Sales Manager and Vendor Team to present our complete product line and technical support to our customer to identify solution sales and growth opportunities
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans for new accounts opened
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Responsible for joint call activity with the suppliers and the sales reps based on the action plan that the Vendor Management team will create with suppliers
  • Provide primary input to the annual budget based on intimate knowledge of opportunities and sales activities.
  • Understanding customer segmentation, product balance, key customer relationships, market shares and general trends in the economic environment will be a priority along with executing the overall business plan
  • Analyzing daily, monthly, and annual performance in detail to establish a very strong understanding of the business requirements and to establish short
- and medium-term tactics

  • Assist with "CRM Compliance"; ensure sales representative input sales information into CRM on a daily/weekly basis

  • Self motivated individual with excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills who can manage and motivate sales staff
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all levels in the organization as well as clients
