    Description

    As a Senior Design Developer – Advanced Concepts, you bring your curiosity to find creative solutions for a better way to innovate product for the mountain athlete.

    This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. We are a team of builders, problem solvers and outdoor enthusiasts.

    Our in-house end-to-end capabilities in research, engineering, design, development, digital and validation allow us to innovate head-to-toe solutions that bring the coast mountain experience to the world.

    If you were in the Senior Design Developer role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    Developing unique and resolved solutions through patterning and prototyping in support of Advanced Concepts projects, ensuring alignment with Arc'teryx design philosophies
    Leading complex and challenging projects
    Providing guidance and mentorship to other Design Developers
    Collaborating with Designers, Pattern Makers, and Product Developers on new construction processes, techniques and manufacturing solutions that meet Arc'teryx requirements
    Building partial or complete concept prototypes to allow for solutions to be tested, reviewed, and validated
    Testing various materials to assess suitability for various construction techniques and end uses, providing recommendations on final selection, as well as diligently documenting information and results throughout the process
    Providing guidance to the Sample and Design teams, responding to problems as they arise
    Helping to develop proprietary solutions with unique intellectual properties
    Supporting in compilation of project scope, activities, and expenditures of projects deemed eligible for submission to funding programs (SR&ED, IRAP, NRC, MITACS, and so forth)
    Developing and testing new harness platforms
    Building a proof-of-concept product for one of our Mountain Professionals to put to the test
    Are you our next Senior Design Developer?
    You have 7+ years' experience working in a technical design environment
    You have a diploma or degree in fashion design, industrial design or the equivalent experience
    You are an expert level sewer, builder, and patternmaker, with CAD experience (Gerber, Clo3D, Solidworks or the equivalent)
    You are proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator, with the ability to pick up new computer applications quickly
    You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
    A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$91,000 - CAD$140,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
