Your role
As Weekend Assignment Producer, you work a full-time schedule from Thursday to Sunday. You must plan and organize TV/radio/digital production for the weekend team.

You are responsible for deploying the station's newsgathering resources to cover regional stories for broadcast across all our platforms on weekends.

In this role, you must provide leadership in developing original content. Your solid planning and organization skills are essential to the team's success. You must also be creative and flexible to stay on top of developing stories. You may be required to deliver radio newscasts. You must be fully familiar with CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices to ensure a quality product.

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Five years' experience, including three in broadcasting or a related field, directly relevant to the assignment.
  • Strong team leadership skills with the ability to inspire others.
  • Demonstrated talent as a programmer with an ear for pacing, tone, presentation and production.
  • Superior writing, editorial and production skills; interest in crossplatform media production.
  • Solid journalistic background.
  • Ability to choose relevant, audiencefocused stories that reflect issues being discussed by the public.
  • Ability to quickly react and respond to breaking stories.
  • Knowledge of events and issues of interest in the Outaouais and eastern Ontario.
  • Demonstrated skills in the area of conflict resolution, mentoring, talent recognition and development.
  • Ability to innovate and take risks.
  • A commitment to reflecting community and diversity.
