THIS POSTING IS FOR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physiotherapist (PT) incumbent is responsible to provide guidance and direction to students during their lab practice, model effective client care management, and work with the program faculty and students in the achievement of program learning outcomes. The incumbent supports the operation of the OTA & PTA program labs including communication to faculty and students, and supporting students with learning outcomes. This position is also responsible for WHMIS, infection control and student/staff in-service. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Supports the planning, scheduling, demonstration, supervision of practice and provides input into the student competencies process on observed clinical skills
• The incumbent facilitates student practice and reinforces pre-learned principles/theory related to skills/procedures
• Supports the maintenance, cleanliness and organization of the OTA & PTA lab spaces
• Monitors, records and tracks students' progress and readiness of OTA/PTA skills for proficiency and safety, and communicating any concerns to the appropriate faculty
• Attends and participates in team meetings, providing observations on students' skill progression, attendance and problems
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successfully completed a Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
• Successfully completed a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy would be an asset
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists, or, the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
• Demonstrated communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to respond to inquiries and provide guidance and / or assistance to others
• Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills with the ability to make day-to-day decisions as required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
