    We are in search of skilled backend software engineers to join our Risk Tech engineering team. Our goal is to actively minimize risk on the Lyft platform, develop top-notch tools and workflows for efficient collection and reporting of accident details, and offer necessary assistance. We are committed to creating a Unified Risk Platform that streamlines end-to-end claim workflows, consolidates communications, organizes data for informed decision-making, and optimizes claim operations as Lyft expands.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain elements of our Risk Tech suite
    • Take ownership of features from product spec to high-quality deployment and maintenance
    • Write well-tested, readable, maintainable code
    • Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality
    • Consider business context and failure modes in your work
    • Support stakeholders and effectively communicate to drive results
    • Participate in on-call rotations and assist in resolving incidents

    Experience:

    • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
    • Proficiency in object-oriented programming
    • Experience with distributed systems
    • Expertise in defining API schemas and developing backend services
    • Knowledge of databases, relational or NoSQL
    • Ability to tackle undefined problems and quickly learn to work towards solutions
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • History of assisting fellow engineers to enhance productivity
    • Effective collaboration in a geographically distributed team

    This role will require in-office presence on a hybrid schedule, with Team Members expected to work in the office 3 days a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and a designated third day. Additionally, hybrid roles offer the flexibility to work remotely for up to 4 weeks annually.
