    Quality Assurance Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Operations

    Montreal, QC

    Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr

    CMLS Financial, one of Canada's largest Commercial lenders, is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Operations to join our growing team. The Quality Assurance Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Operations is responsible for providing the review and inspection of loan files to ensure compliance to commercial mortgage funding quality and documentation standards as per CMLS' policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.

    Reporting to the Vice President and Managing Director, Commercial Mortgage Operations, the incumbent will be required to evaluate file documentation with understanding of commercial loan particulars and CMLS' internal requirements. The QA Analyst will be responsible for effectively providing feedback regarding performance and recommend solutions to identified defects based on senior level expertise. The QA Analyst will also provide support for transaction quality control reviews as well as support for quality assurance reviews and other functions associated with loan transactions within the Commercial Mortgage Operations team as required to achieve business objectives and to meet targets.

    About the role:

  • Maintain current knowledge of CMLS' commercial mortgage division's policies, practices and compliance requirements;
  • Review and analyze commercial mortgage file documents;
  • Identify areas of opportunity and weakness from trends in quality assurance analysis;
  • Make recommendations on best practices to improve internal processes and procedures;
  • Produce accurate reports on findings and provide additional information to management on identified additional training needs;
  • Work with management team to continually refine quality assurance guidelines and recommend changes to auditing process in response to changing business and risk management needs;
  • Work with management team to implement process and internal control improvements;
  • Deliver training support as needed;
  • Support external audit and/or information requests related to operations.
  • This role is for you if you have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in both English and French is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: quality assurance or audit, commercial funding, commercial loan servicing, loan documentation and compliance;
  • University degree in a related field, with a professional designation preferred (ie CFA, CPA, etc);
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts;
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that promote mutually beneficial, respectful and professional relationships;
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving and organizational skills are essential;
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and redirect tasks based on needs;
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines;
  • Strong attention to detail and quality in all areas of work;
  • Advanced knowledge and user of MS Office, Excel in particular;
  • An ability to operate independently with limited supervision and within a team.

    La Financière CMLS, l'un des plus importants prêteurs commerciaux au Canada, est à la recherche d'un analyste, Assurance qualité (AQ), Opérations hypothécaires commerciales, pour se joindre à son équipe en pleine croissance. Le titulaire de ce poste est responsable de l'examen et de l'inspection des dossiers de prêt, afin d'assurer la conformité aux normes de documentation et de qualité du financement hypothécaire commercial, énoncées dans les politiques et procédures de CMLS, et aux exigences réglementaires.

    Relevant du Vice-président et Directeur général, Opérations hypothécaires commerciales, le titulaire de ce poste doit évaluer la documentation des dossiers, et pour cela, comprendre les particularités des prêts commerciaux et les exigences internes de CMLS. L'analyste AQ aura la responsabilité de fournir un retour d'information efficace sur les performances et de recommander des solutions aux défauts identifiés en s'appuyant sur une expertise de niveau supérieur. L'analyste AQ doit aussi fournir un soutien pour les examens de contrôle de la qualité des transactions ainsi qu'un soutien pour les examens d'assurance de la qualité et d'autres fonctions associées aux transactions de prêt, au sein de l'équipe des opérations de prêts hypothécaires commerciaux, selon les besoins, afin d'atteindre les objectifs commerciaux et les cibles.

    En quoi consiste le poste:

  • Se tenir au courant des politiques, des pratiques et des exigences de conformité de la division des prêts hypothécaires commerciaux de CMLS.
  • Examiner et analyser les documents des dossiers d'hypothèques commerciales.
  • Relever les possibilités et les faiblesses à partir des tendances de l'analyse de l'assurance qualité.
  • Faire des recommandations sur les pratiques exemplaires pour améliorer les processus et procédures internes.
  • Produire des rapports précis sur les constatations et fournir à la direction des renseignements supplémentaires sur les besoins de formation supplémentaires relevés.
  • Travailler avec l'équipe de gestion pour améliorer constamment les directives d'assurance qualité et recommander des changements au processus d'audit, en réponse aux besoins changeants de l'entreprise et de la gestion des risques.
  • Travailler avec l'équipe de gestion pour mettre en œuvre les améliorations des processus et des contrôles internes.
  • Fournir un soutien à la formation selon les besoins.
  • Soutenir l'audit externe et/ou les demandes d'information liées aux opérations.
  • Ce poste est pour vous si:

  • Plus de trois ans d'expérience dans l'un des domaines suivants ou une combinaison de ceux-ci : assurance qualité ou audit, financement commercial, gestion de prêts commerciaux, documentation de prêts et conformité.
  • Excellentes aptitudes de communication, tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral, en anglais et en français.
  • Diplôme universitaire dans un domaine connexe, avec un titre professionnel de préférence.
