The Corporate Procurement & Supply Services takes the long-term view of Edmonton's growth, development and redevelopment by providing excellent services to our business partners.

As a Business Analyst student, you will work with section leadership to support the Supply Chain transformation and Contract Management operations through developing and implementing strategies to assess business needs.

Teams you may work in are Supply Chain Management and Contract Management:

As a part of the Supply Chain Management team, you will:

  • Compile data and use analytical skills to generate comprehensive reports
  • Support the preparation of documentation to support business process analysis, redesign and implementation activities (i.e. project plans, evaluation assessments, and process improvement recommendations
  • Support workshop planning, preparation, facilitation and documentation
  • Support the preparation of documentation or graphics to support change management processes
  • Conduct industry best practice research, identify and assess approaches in other municipalities to support analysis
  • Undertake project work, under supervision, relating to analytics, knowledge management, or other related areas
  • Perform other duties as required

As a part of the Contract Management team, you will:

  • Compile data and use analytical skills to generate comprehensive reports
  • Support the preparation of documentation to support business process analysis, redesign and implementation activities (i.e. project plans, evaluation assessments, and process improvement recommendations
  • Support workshop planning, preparation, facilitation and documentation
  • Support the preparation of documentation or graphics to support change management processes
  • Conduct industry best practice research, identify and assess approaches in other municipalities to support analysis
  • Undertake project work, under supervision, relating to analytics, knowledge management, or other related areas
  • Review contracts to confirm information and status, and support contract renewals and amendments
  • Validate and verify contract data into a database repository, while liaising with different business areas to obtain information and update systems
  • Pull data for contracts, purchase orders, close out contracts etc. and analyse data to create meaningful and useful reports for the business groups
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Current enrollment fulltime at a postsecondary institution, in a supply chain management, general business, or finance work experience degree program
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical briefs and reports

Assets

  • Experience with performance measurement reporting tools, including terminology and approaches
  • Experience of procurement or inventory management concepts and techniques
  • Experience conducting research with statistical methods and techniques
  • Experience with strategy development

Conditions of Employment:


  • This position will be a combination of working from home and onsite working conditions.
