- Energetically and inclusively facilitate and support boating programs (, Water sports, guided fishing, and pontoon cruises) and other programming, as assigned, and adapt programs so that they are accessible for all participants.
- Responsible for the safe operation of our powered water vessels, which include the safety of every passenger on board and/or in tow and the safety of other boaters on the water.
- Ensure water vessels are in good operating condition and conduct routine maintenance tasks (, checking fluid levels, battery charging, boat cleaning, etc.).
- Assist guests by taking an active role in all dining room duties, including serving meals, meal set up and clean up.
- Provide support, guidance and leadership to volunteers, guests, and visitors.
- Set up the assigned program area and ensure that all required equipment and materials are available. Clean up the program after the program is completed. Report any low materials or issues with equipment to the appropriate program head.
- Fill out the appropriate paperwork/logs for boating programs, ensuring that all safety equipment is present, and all regulations are being followed during boating programs.
- On a rotational basis, be part of the emergency response team, which includes being on call, present on site and available to respond to emergencies.
- Maintain documentation of any accidents or incidents and provide this documentation to the appropriate leadership member.
- A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
- Current (within 6 months of start date) Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR "C".
- Current G class driver's license required.
- Current F class driver's license an asset.
- Current and valid driver's abstract.
- PCO (Pleasure Craft Operator) card required.
- Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) an asset.
- Water Ski and Wakeboard Ontario Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including patience, empathy, and communication.
- Experience in camp or other recreation programs.
- Extensive experience driving powered water vessels a must (minimum 1-2 years experience with water vessels with 60+hp motors).
- Ability to work flexible hours in a changing and busy environment and work outside for extended period of time.
- Accommodations are available on site – must be willing to share accommodations with other staff members and have shared washrooms.
- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
- Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

CNIB Lake Joe is looking for a Camp Counsellor, Boat Driver to help us bring the magic of summer camp to life for 'kids of all ages' with sight loss, and their families
Note that this position will reside at CNIB Lake Joe during the operational season from May to August and will share accommodations with other staff members.
