This is an exciting opportunity to join the Quark team as the
Technical Support Manager; a key role in the successful execution of our mission.

Working closely with our Expedition and Operations teams, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the technology systems used by those teams and passengers on our fleet of expedition ships, including our recently launched and industry leading Expedition Ship,
Ultramarine.


You will work collaboratively within the Travelopia technology teams as well as from ship owners, onboard systems managers, and contracted technology suppliers to ensure that these systems are fully maintained, secured, and operational; and that the users of these systems are fully supported with access to training and documented policies and procedures.


The key responsibilities include:


(Across fleet of cruise ships)

  • Management of a mediumsized IT support environment, including:
  • Issue resolution and tracking-troubleshooting or reaching out to respective vendor for support
  • Asset deployment and tracking
  • Software license management
  • Procurement and inventory management for consumables and spares
  • Monitoring, Support and Administration of:
  • Satellite Communications networks for the fleet (VSAT, Iridium, 4G, Starlink)
  • Microsoft Sharepoint and OneDrive Portal and File Sharing systems
  • MXP Fleet management server (Windows / Azure hosted
  • Managing the deployment, maintenance and regular servicing of:
  • Approximately 100 laptop and desktop computers
  • Communication and GPS devices (satellite phones, VHF radios, GPS trackers)

(Ultramarine Cruise Ship Specific)

  • Monitoring and administration of
  • Virtual Server Infrastructure (VmWare ESXi, VSphere, MS Windows)
  • LAN and WiFi Network Infrastructure (Cisco)
  • Internet Access for Passengers, Crew and Staff (iCafe)
  • Digital Signage and In Cabin Entertainment systems (Maxicaster / Digitech)
  • Theatre and Lounge A/V presentation systems (QSC)
  • Video Streaming services (Extron)
  • BSc or Certifications in Computing, Communications, Engineering or Electronics related fields.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience in Technologyrelated areas including: support, administration, etc.
  • Experiene in troubleshooting and help desk support.
  • Working with various vendors and managing expectations, maintenance of systems of hardware, etc.
  • Excellent task and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and writing skills in English with the ability to produce training and operating procedure documentation and training materials.
  • The ability and desire to travel.
  • A comfortable and productive workfromhome office space with good internet access, as well as the capabiity to join us in our Toronto office regularly for collobarative and organized work events.
