KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the HR Manager, The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

  • The preparation and administration of payroll/auditing payroll processing reports for accuracy.
  • Ensure all salaries are paid accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Implement salary increases, bonuses in accordance with instructions given
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Group Benefits Administration.
  • Administration of Employee programs, e.g heath benefits.
  • Administer Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term (LTD) programs.
  • Pension Administration
  • Maintain records for pension contributions made by employees; liaise with service providers to ensure funds are transferred as appropriate.
  • Preparing monthly remittances for DB pension plan, RRSP and DPSP plan. Providing information on the plans to all employees and ensuring enrolment packages are completed on time.
  • Advising appropriate organizations when an employee is no longer employed
  • Assist employees with pension RRSP & DPSP plans enquires/forecasts
  • Maintain Employee list.
  • Prepare monthly cheque requisitions.
  • Give Finance necessary Payroll information, reports for biweekly/monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly Seniority list for UNIFOR and PSAC Unions.
  • Miscellaneous, QAD, Employee letters, Filing, Canada Life mailings.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years payroll and benefits experience.
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements an asset.
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll services system
  • Working with Benefit partners i.e. Manulife, Canada Life Etc.
  • Ability to work on a team with excellent communication Skills

Salary:
$48,801.11-$55,000.00 per year
