    This is a hybrid position with the possibility of working both virtually and from our Montreal office.

    What the day will look like

    The Senior Consultant is responsible for the overall quality of delivery of their services. The main client contact and directly accountable for client satisfaction for pension administration delivery, the Senior Consultant proficiently demonstrates strong client consulting skills, deep plan knowledge (including compliance), and a high degree of focus on operational effectiveness.
    • Communicates effectively, professionally, and promptly with multiple clients and other appropriate parties in leveraged situations (Stewardship, SLA discussions, etc.). Coaches others on effective communication.
    • Understands client's plan provisions and internal systems to provide effective delivery solutions.
    • Acts as the subject-matter expert to deliver high-quality, innovative, and compliant services.
    • Manages successful ongoing client results. Prioritizes and multi-tasks effectively taking into account factors such as project scope, timelines and the importance of the need to ensure business results are met.
    • Incorporates information from the appropriate sources to identify problems, opportunities, and alternative courses of action to make timely and optimal decisions.
    • Facilitates understanding of common goals among service-specific team members to meet internal and external results.
    • Promotes operational improvements to positively impact cost, delivery and quality. Sets operational targets and drives teams to meet targets. Collaborates with clients to set expectations for improvement in execution.
    • Responsible for client-specific financial information and manages billings and the change order process to support the ongoing financial success of the project.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success
    • 7+ years working with Defined Benefit pension plans;
    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences and Finance or equivalent work experience, in a relevant industry;
    • Previous work experience in reviewing complex calculations and yearend tasks (PAs, Indexation, Annual Statements, etc.);
    • Solid knowledge of related provincial and federal pension legislation and Income Tax Act provisions;
    • Strong client and vendor communication and management skills;
    • Experience with project/implementation work;
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team;
    • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Access and Word;
    • Experience with pension administration systems, strong spreadsheet competencies and math proficiency required;
    • Thorough with sound pension administration and organizational skills; and
    • Other assets include fluency in French and the completion of CEBS, PPAC, or actuarial courses.
