Job Description:

We're looking for a Regional Vice President to play an integral leadership role within the Insurance Distribution team.

In this fast-paced, results-driven environment, you will have a core accountability to identify strategies and create opportunities to accelerate sales growth and deepen strategic partnerships with aligned accounts.

You will work closely with other field leaders and wholesale counterparts to help deliver on the region's insurance sales targets in creative ways and will focus on fostering a high-performance culture.

This role is suited for someone who has financial industry business savvy, a passion for leadership and an ambition to drive results.

You will be one of five elite Insurance Regional Vice Presidents across Canada.

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following locations:
Vancouver, Calgary, or Regina. Your region will cover of all of the West which includes British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Travel throughout the province will be required.


What you will do

  • Provide leadership, coaching and direction of the insurance sales team to drive performance
  • Set direction and vision to ensure everyone is aligned with corporate objectives and drive business planning and execution
  • Foster collaborative relationships across functions and the business to facilitate the exchange of information and best practices that improve customer outcomes
  • Be the face of the Canada Life brand in the region
  • Accountable for achieving sales objectives and financial targets, within the region
  • Ensure overall strategy and objectives are executed consistently across regional scope
  • Work closely with other field leaders to collaborate and understand top priorities for their regions and deliver on objectives and strategies

What you will bring

  • 10+ years of financial services experience
  • Post secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian life insurance, disability and critical illness products, sales strategies, the financial services industry and applicable legislation
  • Financial services designations, such as CFP, CH.F.C, PFP or CLU are considered an asset
  • Strong sales and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Experienced team leader and coach with a track record of developing and leading high performance sales teams
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to use this knowledge to influence thinking and behaviour
  • Effectively leads change initiatives related to regional or national change
  • Effective communicator; collaborates with all stakeholders with an ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships
  • Creative thinker, focused on driving the business forward
  • Strong field credibility and interpersonal skills to lead through influence, and inspire diverse audiences to accelerate growth
  • Takes responsibility, accepts challenges and is motivated by results
  • Strong public speaking ability
  • Ability to travel throughout an assigned region using your own means of transportation
