    VPI is a Service Provider for Employment Ontario, which is funded by the Ontario Government to support jobseekers and employers. VPI has been delivering employment programs for more than 30 years. We are based in Mississauga and have 17 branches across Southern Ontario.     We are looking for a Permanent Full-time, Associate Manager, Employment Services for our Oshawa branch.

    Key Job Functions

    • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of our services, eligibility of programs that we administer through Employment Ontario, and how we can support the individual needs of job seekers.
    • Provide support to Director, Employment Services (scheduling meetings, preparing reports and presentations, and completing administrative tasks).
    • Assist with project management to support and manage projects and initiatives by coordinating with team members and tracking progress.
    • Analyze data and prepare reports, conducts market research.
    • Participate in strategic planning by supporting the planning process by preparing and compiling reports to help achieve short and long-term goals.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including branch managers, community partners and leadership team.
    • Provide back up support to Branch Manager role in absences.
    • Other duties pertaining to the position, as required.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Analyzing data, and solving problems, so strong analytical and problem-solving skills are important.
    • Excellent communication skills: Communicate effectively with managers, executives, team members, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
    • Strong organizational skills: Managing multiple tasks and projects.
    • Leadership potential: Ability to take on leadership responsibilities is important.
    • Flexibility: Adapt to changing needs and priorities is important for management associates.
    • Problem-solving skills: Identify problems and develop effective solutions.
    • Time Management skills: Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
    • Interpersonal skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
    • Effectively work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
