    Functional Safety Engineer

    Remote Opportunity

    Our Client in Ottawa is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join their customer solutions IP team in the semiconductor industry.

    They are engaged in the dynamic automotive market, providing cutting edge semiconductor solutions for the Automotive industry.

    The position requires ensuring products comply with ISO for automotive functional safety and reliability.

    Responsibilities

    Assist development teams in the planning, concept, design, implementation, and verification of functional safety across several disciplines for hardware, firmware, embedded software, and mixed products and solutions.

    Conduct thorough evaluations of both qualitative and quantitative functional safety studies, including FMEDA, DFMEA, DFA, and FTA confirmation reviews.

    Conduct thorough analyses of documentation, including definitions of functional safety mechanisms, technical safety ideas, and architecture specifications.

    Support the functional safety assessment process.

    Collaborate with product and field teams to assess customer requirements regarding automotive dependability, functional safety, and quality.

    Must Haves:

    Hardware or Firmware Experience at the Semiconductor Level (ASIC, IC, Embedded, etc.) - 6 plus years.

    Automotive Functional Safety Experience - 3 Plus years

    ISO Design/Development/Test/verification/Validation experience - 3 Plus Years

    Formal training in ISO

    Working knowledge of automotive reliability standards such as AEC Q

    Working knowledge of quality standards such as ISO or IATF

    Knowledge of semiconductor development flows
