    Senior UX Designer, Individual Insurance

    Reports to:
    AVP, Individual Product & Marketing
    Individual Insurance

    Term :
    Temporary Full-Time, Twelve (12) Month Contract

    You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.

    You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

    Working in our Individual Insurance line of Business, the UX Designer, aligns our corporate goal of creating compassionate, reliable, and proactive experiences to advisors and clients in a way that precisely meets their distinct needs by collaborating with team members and building with partners.

    They are responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes.

    The UX designer will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the product, and to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.

    This is a high impact role within the Individual Insurance business and requires an individual with amazing creativity, empathy, stakeholder engagement experience, team building, collaboration and influencing skills, change management, an enduring sense of curiosity and a never-ending desire to learn.

    Translate complex concepts and interactions into simple, elegant, and coherent design, and define and take user journeys from concept through implementation.

    Facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products

    Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.

    Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
    Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
    Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
    Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
    Monitor key performance indicators for our digital experiences.

    Stay on top of current and emerging digital trends, bringing new and innovative ideas to elevate our client and partner digital experiences.

    Work closely with agile teams ensuring front end digital experiences align with and support back-office functions.
    Align with both Group Benefits and Savings & Retirement divisions to ensure consistent delivery of digital experiences

    Three or more years of UX design experience.

    Must have a clear understanding of user behavior, and be proficient in a wide variety of skills, ranging from psychology to design and technology.

    Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, and the like is a must.

    Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.

    Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.

    Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.

    A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.

    Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.

    Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design and about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation.

    Deep experience with Agile ways of working.
