Canada Life is seeking a student to work with our compliance department to develop our organization's legal and regulatory requirements library.

In this role, you will support the chief compliance officer and corporate compliance team in developing and executing a strategy for maintaining our requirements inventory.


This is an exciting opportunity for a law student looking to gain a complete understanding of the universe of the regulatory environment for one of Canada's leading financial institutions.


What you will do

  • Support the completion of the organization's existing regulatory inventory loaded into the organization's regulatory management platform
  • Perform Quality Assurance of the organization's regulatory inventory
  • Assist in the identification of any missing legislative requirements and coordinate with parent company stakeholders
  • Assist in developing the organization's strategy for ongoing maintenance of our regulatory requirements

What you will bring

  • Completed at last one (1) year of juris doctor or equivalent program
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational capabilities and project management skills
  • Processoriented; requires developing, documenting and maintaining detailed endtoend procedures
  • Can absorb and synthesize large volume of information and identify patterns across data elements
  • Ability to quicky absorb information, learn about business structures, including insurance, securities and investment functions
  • Ability to form productive working relationships across various business functions
  • Strong communication skills

Nice to haves

  • Familiarity with Excel and PowerBI
