Sheraton Club Lounge Attendant

Reports to:
Food & Beverage Outlets Manager/ Assistant Food & Beverage Outlets Manager/ Food & Beverage Supervisor

Position Purpose:


The position of Club Lounge Attendant ensures excellence in guest service by providing friendly, efficient and accurate food and beverage service to Club Lounge patrons.


Authority

Day-to-Day Operations:


  • Greeting guests, taking and filling orders, fulfilling guest requests
  • Acquiring and maintaining extensive knowledge of all food and beverage menus, methods of preparation, presentation, ingredients and service times
  • Attend and participate in all preservice meetings and scheduled operations meetings
  • Be prepared for his/her shift with appropriate cash float, notepads, pens and corkscrew
  • Responding to guest requests and concerns in a personal, prompt and courteous manner whether on the phone or in person
  • Inform leadership of any issues with guest service or satisfaction
  • Establish team rapport and promote team spirit to ensure superior guest satisfaction and an enjoyable work environment
  • Daily setup of buffet for am and pm service that exceeds standards and expectations.
  • Knowledge of all services and facilities
  • Clear all tables properly and discreetly in accordance with service standards
  • Fill out daily requisitions that stocks department for service
  • Being aware of services offered or special events in the Hotel
  • Performing necessary cleaning duties required for the efficient maintenance and daytoday operation of the restaurant
  • Maintain friendly and productive relationships with team members and other hotel employees
  • Work closely with all hotel departments to improve service delivery and efficiency
  • Utilize the POS system efficiently, accurately and effectively when placing food & beverage orders or posting payments.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Food & Beverage Leadership Team

Accountabilities:


  • Accurately record and complete deposit report at end of shift
  • Commitment to maintaining and promoting restaurant standards and policies with respect to presentation, service and product
  • Ensure the responsible service of alcoholic beverages
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and standards and adhere to all safety measures when using machines and equipment
  • Handling all hotel supplies with respect thus avoiding breakages, loss and waste
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Hotel's Core Values

Health and Safety:

Under the OHSA, Club Lounge Server are required to ensure that:

  • Work in the manner and with the protective devices, measure and procedures required.
  • Use or wear the equipment, PPE or clothing required by the Sheraton Ottawa Hotel.
  • Advise of the existence of any potential or actual danger to their well being of which the supervisor is aware.
  • Where prescribed, will be provided with written instructions as to the measures and procedures to be taken for their protection.
  • Ensure every reasonable precaution is taken for the protection of themselves and the guest.


On a daily basis, the Club Lounge Server is responsible to reinforce and demonstrate a positive 'Health & Safety' attitude and working climate.

All safety rules and procedures must be upheld.

Club Lounge Servers are expected to report, investigate and properly document all incidents and injuries to employees and guests, as well as any property damage or loss of process as a result of the incident.


Physical Demands for this position:


  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand and exert wellpaced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert wellpaced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
All lifting will be within reason. The employer will make every effort to ensure that the associate is protected from injury (ex. PPE).

  • Must be able to exert wellpaced ability in limited space.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
