General Accountability:


  • Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst, the incumbent is responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of general ledger and management reporting systems and processes. The incumbent is also responsible for the analysis, coordination and preparation of accounting records, budgets, reports on the expenditure and performance measurement variances, and related documentation. Furthermore, the incumbent performs various administrative duties in the section including substituting for immediate supervisor as required.

Key Job Functions:


  • Administer and control the TTC's Mainframe accounting and financial reporting general ledger (GL) computer system (the primary system used by the Operations Departments and Budgets and Costing to record and report on almost $500M of vehicle and facility maintenance related expenditures annually)
  • Administer and control the TTC's Millennium Mainframe accounting and financial reporting general ledger (G/L) and related computer systems (POST, Account Validation Master (AVM), SAPMAP, Job Note (JBNT), FINSTAR)
  • Ensures TTC's Mainframe GL and the SAP GL report consistent and accurate information to management by performing analytical procedures such as interface reconciliations
  • Oversees related WBS (activitybased cost tracking), master data maintenance, periodend activities and provides training and support to end user
  • Provides support to the Senior Business Analyst, performing all duties related to the SAP S4 Hana GL system (e.g. responding to user queries, master data maintenance, period and yearend close, reporting, etc.).
  • Work closely with SAP COE to resolve production issues and to review status of and expedite the timely resolution of pending SAPrelated incidents & requests or initiatives
  • Perform testing for Mainframe and SAP Disaster Recovery exercises typically performed outside of normal business hours
  • Monitor interface warnings IDOCs and provide guidance to assist SAP Center of Expertise in error analysis and resolution.
  • Participate in providing solutions to system defects, changes and upgrades, performing user acceptance testing and supporting Information Technology Services/ SAP Centre of Excellence section.
  • Acts as the Manager's and Supervisor's delegate for approving the section's journal entries
  • Develops expertise knowledge of SAP GL, master data maintenance, period end, reporting, JE Uploader and workflow, related business processes and system interfaces
  • Prepares the annual budget for the section and reports on the expenditure and performance measurement variances throughout the year
  • Acts as a section delegate for Senior Business Analyst, Supervisor and Manager for the review and approval of section staff journal entries and reconciliations
  • Prepares, processes and reviews financial and accounting documents to ensure compliance with laws and regulation.
  • Communicates with management, and key stakeholders findings, proposed changes, and progress
  • Maintains and updates systems, policies, procedures, and materials
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives as defined under the role
