    Woezo Africa Music & Dance Theatre Inc. is currently seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual who is interested to be part of this vibrant and engaging artistic community. Since 2006, Woezo Africa Music & Dance Theatre Inc. has been passionately dedicated to bringing the history of African culture to the masses through traditional and modern modes of performing arts, including dance, music, theatre and storytelling.

    The Social Media Coordinator will use their communication and organization skills to create a plan and schedule Woezo Africa's social media posts for each month.

    What kind of person are we looking for?

    You would be described as a proactive, task-juggling Black, Indigenous, or Person of Colour (BIPOC). You do not wait to be asked to get the job done but also understand securing approvals is part of the job. You get the difference between social media and social media marketing for businesses and organizations. You are detail-oriented, organized, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have a flexible, easy-going attitude. Above all, you are self-motivated and take initiative to grow and learn.

    The role:

    Type: Part-time contract
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: $15/hour
    Hours: 13-20 hours/month that will be done remotely (occasional weekend and evening work is required)

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    60% Social & Web Content: planning, writing and coordination, maintaining editorial calendars, seeking approvals, recommendations for improvement and overseeing the creative design. You have an eye for detail, research needed and take the time to ensure accuracy of information.

    30-40% Social Media Content Creation: create platform-specific content including text posts, videos, and graphics, working with a variety of software and web applications and coordinate digital strategy to align messaging and visual content.

    5-10% Analytics and Reporting (with actionable insights) for online reviews and social media

    5% Other Duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Reporting and analytics
    • You have a post-secondary diploma OR job experience in social media and content development
    • Ability to communicate clearly and write to create interest, excitement and inspire action
    • Experience with Google Docs
    • Experience with social media management, automation tools and video editing software are an asset
