Position Profile:

Join our Pharmacy Services Team and provide Administrative Support to the Director and the Program.


At Humber River Hospital, our Pharmacy department plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe distribution and service of medications to patients which facilitates successful patient treatment outcomes in compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation standards.

The management and distribution of our medications is critical in ensuring we are able to consistently deliver the high-quality, safe care that we are known for.

As we continue to grow our pharmacy operations, we are seeking
a Temporary Full Time Program Service Assistant up to 1 year to provide administrative support to
Pharmacy Services Team.

Program Director, Pharmacy Services

Wilson Site


Hours of work:
Days, occasional evenings/weekends

Position Responsibilities:


  • Provides high quality administrative clerical support services to the Program Director and Program
  • Attends and coordinates the preparation of meeting agendas, recording minutes and communications for committee meetings.
  • Arranges appointments and meetings
  • Travelling across sites to support meetings and orientation.
  • Assists with coordination Program wide events (e.g. Clinical Day, Grand Rounds) and projects.
  • Coordinates office functions including overseeing and monitoring the workflow of clerical staff.
  • Acts as liaison with the public to provide general information on the program.
  • Communicates with external and internal customers to be able to facilitate the resolution of concerns.
  • Assists with development, revision and maintenance of Pharmacy policies and procedures system.
  • Develops and maintains a filing system to meet departmental needs.
  • Assists in monitoring the Department's administrative office budget and payroll.
  • Assists with depatmental scheduling.
  • Preparation of data and reports to include utilization & financial reviews, quality improvement indicators and statistical data.
  • Composes and edits correspondence/reports.
  • Manages confidential information as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum five years of administrative/secretarial experience supporting management, including taking/preparing committee minutes (committee administrative support)
  • Completion of a recognized secretarial/administrative program is required.
  • Previous experience in a health care environment
  • Clinic, hospital and/or physician's office
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and Power Point), with a typing speed of 60 W.P.M is required.
  • Demonstrated excellent Microsoft Outlook skills, managing multiple calendars
  • Knowledge of Meditech computer system an asset (Order Management, EMR, Meditech Skills Data Base).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues/information in a professional manner.
  • Proven decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational/time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and initiate work, selfmotivated and flexible.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and work able to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement.
  • Personal vehicle required for travel between site
Applicants may be required to successfully complete full administrative testing, incluidiing typing speed, MS Office and Medical Terminology.
