Job Summary


As part of the Technology Business Enablement organization, the expert Process Optimization is responsible to lead the definition, shaping of I&T projects and deliver business improvement initiatives for various CN Business units.

The expert Process optimization has a strategic and execution focused mindset. He/she is able to mobilize diverse teams in meeting significant process improvement targets.

Working with executive leadership from the BUs and I&T, he/she selects and prioritizes projects which aligns with CN's strategic goals.

He/she also create project plans and guide team members, including personnel certified at the Green and Yellow Belt levels, to perform day-to day analysis and optimization of BU's business processes in order to improve overall organization performance.

He/she has a wide range of experience and demonstrate strong leadership, is decisive and analytical, is persuasive, and have exceptional project management abilities.


The Expert Process Optimization is also an important actor for the support of a CN Continuous Improvement Community of Practice in providing leadership, training, mentoring and guidance to CN Continuous Improvement champions.


Main Responsibilities

Leading business improvement initiatives


The Expert Process Optimization is taking an unstructured business problem and is responsible for discovering and validating the current state of the selected processes, as well as working with the business owner to build an optimized "to be" model that is specific on approach (technology, people, process) and outcomes.


  • Lead "Kaizen type" event or discovery sessions around Business Processes with Internal business partners to clarify business issues and underlying causes
  • Create and validate the current and future state business processes with business partners
  • Analyze processes to identify optimization and automation opportunities. Document, evaluate and conduct costbenefits analysis for those opportunities
  • Perform benchmark, best practices review and he/she is knowledgeable of industry trends
  • Develop business optimization recommendations based on thorough quantitative analysis and present those recommendations to business partners
  • Provide implementation support in defining implementation strategy & plan as well as solution roll out.

Business Optimization Practice Development


The Expert Process Optimization is responsible to continuously evolve the practice and bringing value to this ecosystem by implementing innovative approaches, framework and tools.


  • Innovate BPM approaches by proposing simplified and pragmatic framework and tools
  • Deploy, manage and govern the Process Classification Framework in alignment with the Business Capability Model
  • Act as a change agent for the Business Process Management philosophy and promote BPM across CN organization
  • Responsible for the definition and implementation of BPMS standards (artifacts & components)
  • Contribute to the intellectual capital development of the TBE team.

Education

  • He/she is responsible to educate and support CN stakeholders in business process optimization and continuous improvement concepts. The Expert Process Optimization support the CN Continuous Improvement Community of Practice.
  • Provide training, mentoring and guidance to business process owners related to the use of Continuous Improvement concepts & tools
  • Leverage existing community training content on business process optimization and continuous improvement

Requirements:


Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's Degree in industrial Engineering, Business Administration/Information System, Computer Science or other Engineering field
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong Leadership and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Strong facilitation & negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Solid analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of Lean Six sigma and agile methodologies and tools
  • Solid process mapping skills including BPMN & knowledge of BPMS Technologies
  • Solid training and coaching ability
  • Business acumen and technology savvy : knowledge of industry and technology trends and best practices
