- Current Certificate of Registration as aRegistered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Possess current Basic Cardiac LifeSupport.
- Certification in Delegated Control Actsand additional nursing skills dependent on work area.
- Knowledge of principles of cardiac care,emergency care, maternal childcare, geriatric care, medical- surgical,palliative care, dependent on work area.
- Strong conflict resolution skills whendealing with staff, supervisors, physicians, patients and family members.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitationand communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinkingskills.
- Ability to exercise good judgement inrecognizing situations that may require immediate attention of appropriateperson/people.
- Ability to provide educationalopportunities for clients and family, other health care providers and healthcare students.
- Knowledge of and adherence to OccupationalHealth and Safety and Infection Control Practices, College of Nurses Standardsof Practice, and Health Centre policy and procedures.
- Current ACLS preferred

- Must adhere to the duties of workers, asstipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Must have an ability to effectivelycommunicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provideexcellent communication with team members, patients and families. Ability tocommunicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.

- Administers patient care within thescope of practice based on the established care plan.

- Co-ordinates and facilitatescommunication among the care providers to best meet the health care needs ofthe assigned patients.

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84 bed hospital located in Collingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that serves more than 74,000 permanent residents and 3.5 Million annual visitors to the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and the Blue Mountains. CGMH is an acute care hospital providing emergency care, diagnostic services including lab, imaging and cardio respiratory therapy, as well as two inpatient units (medicine and surgery). The Opportunity:
TheRN- Ambulance participates as a team member in the assessment, treatment, andprovision of care and health promotion for all patients through supportive,therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means while adhering to thestandards mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Provides care andtransfer to medical, surgical, chronic, paediatric, obstetrical, rehabilitativeand/or palliative patients transferring to other hospitals.
