Health and Safety Administrator

Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Administrator will support the H&S department with administrative work, onboarding of new employees and training management. This is an entry level role with opportunities for career development and advancement.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
üManage training systems by assigning courses, running reports, and tracking completions;
üOrganize on site compliance training and track compliance due dates;
üBuild training packages and material by using prior resources, researching information and working with different departments;
üCoordinate and schedule onboarding for all new employees;
üSupport meetings by taking minutes, and preparing and distributing information or reports;
üSupport ERT training with tracking, scheduling and updating requirements;
üAssist in scheduling First Aid training and report collection;
üAssist in document management for Health and Safety department including audits, data entry, reporting, tracking, and updating policies;
üOversee PPE for new employees and the Eye Safe program for mill site;
üProvide coverage for other administrators and H&S department as needed;
üAll other duties as assigned.
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES
üSafety focused;
üSelf-directed and works with minimal supervision;
üAbility to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and deadlines;
üConfident communicator at all levels of organization including listening, writing and presenting;
üProven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
üDetail oriented;
üWork well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ü1-3 years of administrative experience and/or Health & Safety education;
üPrevious experience in a Health & Safety role is an asset;
üCurrent Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or willing to obtain is an asset;
üStrong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite; previous experience using Sharepoint is an asset.
