Who you are

You have at least 3 years of work experience in Loss Prevention, Safety and Security, Risk or Asset Management (or a similar field)
You naturally think outside of the box, come up with creative solutions
You hold a valid provincial security license and Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (with AED), and are WZ and CPR trained (strongly preferred but not mandatory)
You have experience using Access Control, CCTV, and Alarm Systems
You are detail focused, incredibly approachable, and have a strong sense of responsibility
You are as cool as a cucumber under pressure and can quickly and confidently react in a crisis
You handle sensitive and confidential investigations with extreme professionalism and integrity
You are totally cool with working in a fastpaced (and sometimes stressful) environment
Your reliability and knowledge make you a "goto" person for our coworkers who need education and support on Safety and Security issues
You have strong knowledge of local/federal laws and court procedures

Responsibilities:

Ensure that a safe and secure environment is always maintained in our unit and on our property for our customers and our coworkers
Keep your team up to date with all recent local laws, regulations, standards and Health and Safety processes (including fire and building safety codes)
Support your team's growth through regular talent development discussions, continuous onthejob training and coaching
Communicate, create awareness, coach and ensure training of all Unit Managers, team members and coworkers
Identify and mitigate health, safety and security risks using the Risk Management Process (e.g. root cause analysis, emerging Risks, influencing factors, mitigation plans)
Build strong internal and external relationships across the country, gaining understanding about their needs and their buyin for your initiatives and programs
Always work to improve current processes and procedures, aligned with the Business objective as well as the Global Risk direction
Make sure all security systems and equipment are well maintained
Ensure timely reporting and handling of all incidents through IRS (Incident Reporting System)
Maintain an effective Insurance claims handling and reporting process
