Position Overview:

The Slot Attendant is responsible for monitoring the gaming floor while providing excellent customer service.

They make timely transactions and will always portray a professional and positive attitude while following rules and regulations set forth by the company, the department and the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission (AGLC).

The Slot Attendant shall promote and maintain the highest caliber of customer service, utmost respect and integrity to all customers, fellow slot department team members, and other Casino personnel.


Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a valid AGLC license
  • Appearance must be maintained and presentable at all times
  • Responsible for delivering excellent customer service to guests and creating a positive and fun atmosphere
  • Responsible for paying jackpots accurately and efficiently.
  • Report machine malfunctions to AGLC Technician
  • Respond to machine lights and service slot machine malfunctions such as minor ticket jams.
  • Report machine discrepancies to the Slot Supervisor.
  • Respond to patrons needs (assist patrons with brief machine explanations, instructions for bill acceptors or various other questions regarding the slot machine).
  • Responsible for balancing and maintaining float and jackpot payouts.
  • Must strictly adhere to Departmental and Internal Control Manual policies and procedures as well as strict compliance with AGLC regulations.
  • Responsible for the security of a radio, machine keys/cards and other Casino property.
  • Must be able to lift lbs
  • Strive to maintain a high level of teamwork with coworkers and other departments
  • Promote and recommend the facility and its services (i.e. restaurants, gift shop, marketing events, etc)
  • Guest Services desk responsibilities:
  • Welcome, meet and greet all guests of the casino: Build working relationships accordingly, answer inquiries and provide information to deliver exemplary service levels at all times; Perform coat check
  • Assist in the marketing efforts of the Player's Club program and explain the benefits of Player's Club membership to new and existing guests. Process Player's Club transactions issuing point redemption vouchers or other vouchers to members, complete paperwork, distribute coupons (or other material), review, update and save member data as needed according to established guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Remain fully aware of the site's operation and the amenities and services provided, along with promotions and marketing initiatives at all times.
  • Resolve issues and report guest concerns to Slot Supervisor.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the Slot Supervisor or Manager.

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year customer service experience.
  • Cash handling experience (and POS systems)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills are required as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team oriented environment, and able to function independently
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding area and be familiar with a highvolume, fastpaced, multitasking environment
  • Must be available for shiftwork,
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time,
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment
  • Exposure to Scents/Perfumes.
