Corporate Services/ Quartermaster Stores is looking for an Inventory Material Handler who will play a pivotal role in constantly striving for excellence and work in a collaborative manner with all disciplines and departments throughout the police service to ensure that the Inventory material handling expectations of our staff are met.

About the Role - How you will Contribute to the Service:

In this role, the Inventory Material Handler will be responsible for ensuring a continuous positive and welcoming environment for internal stakeholders, shipping, receiving and material distribution services within Headquarters.

Performs general warehouse duties and provides back up for the Distribution Services Clerk.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Receives and distributes materials (uniform/equipment) as ordered.
  • Loads, unloads, stacks and stores bulk supplies in the warehouse. Restocks shelves.
  • Enters data of incoming and outgoing transactions to the SAP financial system and internal record keeping ledgers.
  • Picks and packs goods and supplies to fill authorized requisitions. Prepares and arranges for delivery, completing associated paperwork.
  • Provides frontline customer service to QM Stores counter responding to inquiries and requests.
  • Issues authorized warehouse stocked equipment according to established policies.
  • Provides backup for Distribution Services Clerk duties as required.
  • Performs uniform & equipment fittings for members prior to issuance, as needed
  • Completes daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintains appropriate stock levels.
  • Participates in annual inventory audit process.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education, Certifications and Qualifications:
Highschool


Previous Experience, Knowledge and Skills:


  • High attention to detail skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills to resources accordingly
  • Excellent customer service skills to deal with internal stakeholders
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift objects under 50 lbs. on a regular basis, such as loading, unloading, and storing items.
  • Must hold a valid Class G Driver's License and have a good driving record, as this position may require travel between the various district buildings on a regular basis
  • Flexibility in scheduling is mandatory in this role as hours of work may change as required to provide services to internal stakeholders
  • Must be able to work start time of 7:30am
  • An equivalent combination of education, skills and or/ experience may be considered._

The successful applicant will need to pass a background check to the satisfaction of the Service which will include reference checks with previous employers, verification of educational achievements, and a criminal background screen.

Salary Range:
$60, $66,117.00
