Responsibilities and Activities
-
HR Administration
- Maintain employee data and personnel files
- Create templates for ease of use and streamlining processes across the organization
- Complete audits of employee information periodically to maintain data integrity
- Liaise with benefit providers for employee benefit questions or inquiries
- Organize and track HR project progress
- Generate adhoc reports as required
- Other project work as required
Recruitment
- Assist with the development of recruitment strategies to meet organizational growth goals
- Work with the Director to anticipate future organizational needs and to develop a workforce plan
- Maintain and update organizational charts as needed
Policies and Procedures
- Maintain compliance with federal, provincial and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices
- Review and update policies and practices to maintain compliance and communicate to internal employees
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the organization in creating a positive and collaborative environment for employees
- Work with department leads to identify training needs and maintain training records
- Manage professional development initiatives
- Create, audit, and update job descriptions
- Assess all HR processes and make recommendations for improvements
- Review salary bands and compensation models annually
- Conduct workplace investigations where required
- Other duties as assigned from time to time
Knowledge
- Postsecondary graduate with a concentration in Business, Human Resources, or a related program is required
- A CPHR designation or in the process of obtaining is considered an asset
- 3 to 5 years' experience with a Human Resources Department is required, of which 3 years must be in a Generalist role
- Strong understanding of employment legislation
