Summary


The Tool Set-Up Technician is responsible for ensuring that all machines properly equipped with the right tool, to properly maintain and keep the tools, and to follow the production schedule in a timely manner with tool changes on the presses and waterjets.


Reporting Structure
Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.


Duties Include:

The Tool and Die Maintenance Mechanic is accountable for the changing of and maintenance of our tools and dies under the direction of the Maintenance Manager including but not limited to the following:

  • Performs mold and fixture maintenance operations as instructed.
  • Installs and changes all molds required on hydraulic presses throughout the production shift.
  • Installs and changes all fixtures on water jets throughout the production shift.
  • Ensures compliance of mold & fixture maintenance schedule.
  • Responsible for tooling inclusive of test tooling, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting.
  • Identify problem areas, recommend, coordinate, and implement solutions.
  • Collaborates with other departments to maintain the ISO quality systems.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or other Management.
  • Create new installation documentation and SOP's.
  • Attend any training as required.
  • Maintain good morale and a team atmosphere throughout the facility.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained and meets the standards set by the company.
  • Follow all safety policies, rules and regulations.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or other Management.

Education, Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience required
  • Strong propane counterbalance forklift skills required. Experience driving 40,000lbs capacity forklift (recommended).
  • Previous experience with pneumatic powered tools and surface grinders.
  • Must be able to keep up with the heavy physical demand of this job and able to lift loads not exceeding 50lbs (22.7kg).
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Possess the attitude where you will take ownership of the equipment and embrace the responsibility to complete tasks and stay until the job is completed
  • A strong team player.
  • Good command of the English language.
