SUMMARY

The Licensee Sales Manager will plan and oversee the strategy and execution of all sales and distribution activities for On Premise / Licensee accounts (bars and restaurants) across Ontario.

They will manage a Toronto sales territory and will lead the licensee sales team toward the ongoing development and growth of Left Field's licensee sales business.

Direct reports for this role include delivery team lead, delivery drivers, sales support and territory representatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Territory Management : 70-80% of time:

  • Develops and maintains sales relationships with key accounts (all territories), and with all accounts in own territory
  • Solicits and books weekly orders from accounts
  • Develops promotional sales events in collaboration with account partners
  • Maintains receivables in good standing
  • Makes deliveries to accounts, occasionally, on an as needed basis

Sales Channel Management : 20-30% of time:

  • Leads, motivates and inspires the sales and delivery team to foster high employee engagement and an overall positive team morale
  • Develops annual strategic plan, budget and sales targets
  • Leads business development for new sales opportunities
  • Develops and holds team accountable for targets, both results and activitiesbased
  • Develops and continuously optimizes standardized selling processes, including sales call best practices, objection handling and retention strategies
  • Develops and maintains customer service standards and best practices for the channel
  • Logistics planning plans and schedules both physical and human resources to meet sales needs
  • Manages costs of sales channel including promotional budgets, expenses and labour
  • Liaises with 3rd party suppliers on an as needed basis, including but not limited to distributors, tech vendors, draught maintenance partner, and others
  • With support from HR, leads the recruitment, training, professional development, performance coaching and disciplinary actions for licensee sales team
  • In collaboration with Marketing, creates promotional plans, tools and budgets
  • In collaboration with Operations/Analytics, creates sales forecasts and sales reports
  • Leverages data to research and analyze market trends and opportunities and customer insights to grow the sales channel
  • Leads crossdepartmental communication of licensee sales priorities, activities, and needs
  • Maintains records regarding historical sales, promotional activities and events. Develops postmortem reports to measure ROI and document wins, challenges and opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experienced people leader with a demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire and coach a team toward success. Leads by example.
  • Minimum 5 years in an On Premise sales role, with account management experience
  • Selfstarter and independently motivated to achieve results. Highly accountable.
  • Personable, friendly and outgoing personality. Builds and maintains authentic, trusting relationships with ease.

  • Is able to reliably commute to accounts within the sales territory on a daily basis
  • G class drivers license and clean driving record is mandatory
  • Must be able to move cases of beer weighing 10Kg from ground level or pallets to table height to hand carts to a delivery vehicle
  • Must be able to move kegs weighing up to 143 lbs between skids, hand carts, delivery vehicles and up/down staircases
  • Knowledge of draught systems is an asset
  • Access to a personal vehicle that can be used for work purposes, including sales visits and occasional deliveries
