Job Number:49723**- Configure and maintain Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Assessment, and Network Behavior Analysis tools to monitor, alert, and report on the EPS network security status.
- Provides management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customer, or organizational security objectives.
- Participates in the EPS Change Advisory Board (CAB) to verify that the risk of change to EPS networks and infrastructure is controlled and documented.
- Participates in the EPS Patch & Vulnerability Group (PVG) to verify that systems are scanned and updated without excessive disruption of availability.
- Responds to operational incidents and queries to assist in providing IT services to EPS workers.
- Communicates with multiple levels of management, and various departments to manage technical and procedural cyber security risks.
- Provides senior leadership with reports and metrics on cyber security related incidents and activities.
- Provides Security Awareness Training to EPS personnel.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related discipline and four (4) years of relevant experience OR Post-Secondary diploma in a related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience OR One (1) year related certificate
- 35 years work experience in cybersecurity and IT risk management would be considered an asset.
- Must have CISSP Security Certification or be currently working towards it and able to achieve the certification within 2 years of hire.
- Security Certification in CISM, CRISC, GIAC, SSCP, CCSP, M365 or similar are highly desirable.
- Microsoft M365, Azure, and Sentinel Security tool knowledge is highly desirable.
- Indepth knowledge of network (LAN, WAN, Wireless), hacking techniques and exploits (ethical hacking), firewalls, routing, databases, software and hardware, servers, and operating systems.
- Good understanding of Cloud computing security concepts, SIEM, IDS/IPS, syslog, NIST Cyber Security Framework, current security best practices and virtualization.
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
- Class 5 Driver's License is required. Must be willing to obtain and provide proof of business related public liability and damage issuance of at least $1,000,000. The Edmonton Police Service does provide mileage compensation.

Salary Grade: 032, $ $63.39 (Hourly), $3, $4, Bi-Weekly), $87, $111, Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
