    We support our North American and Caribbean clients from our locations in Toronto, Calgary, and US.
    Polar Racking is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Supply chain team.

    As a Senior Buyer for Supply Chain, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the procurement and purchasing activities of our organization.

    You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, products, and services required for our supply chain operations.

    Your focus will be on ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods while maintaining high standards of quality and supplier performance.

    You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to support the overall supply chain objectives and deliver exceptional results.

    For 2024, there is a current need to expand our domestic suppliers in United States to meet the demands of our customers.


    • Report directly to Supply Chain Manager
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the demand requirements and develop effective procurement strategies.
    • Source and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service criteria.
    • Generate purchase orders, review purchase requisitions, and ensure timely placement of orders to meet production schedules and inventory requirements.
    • Monitor and manage supplier performance, including delivery times, product quality, and cost compliance.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any issues related to order fulfillment, delivery delays, or quality concerns.
    • Analyze and evaluate supplier proposals, contracts, and pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, and purchase orders.
    • Continuously monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
    • Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize transportation and delivery schedules, ensuring timely receipt of goods.
    • Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies to drive cost savings, risk mitigation, and process efficiencies.
    • Stay up to date with relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to procurement and supply chain activities.
    Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or a related field.

    Minimum of five (5+) years of varied supply chain experience as a supply chain buyer or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.


    • Solid understanding of procurement best practices, supplier management, contract negotiation, supply chain processes, inventory management, and logistics concepts.
    • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain operations.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive informed decision-making.
    • Self motivated team player with demonstrated problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
    • Familiarity with volume production processes including forming, welding, stamping, machining, casting.
    • Proficient in using ERP software and tools, Dynamics GP experience preferred.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
    • Ability to work under time constraints and handle multiple tasks with little or no supervision to produce a quality product in a timely fashion.
    • English language fluency - verbal and written required.
