    2409 Director / Associate Director, Commercial Financing Our nation-wide commercial finance client boasts an amazing culture for career progression having maintained its dynamic, entrepreneurial spirit while becoming Canada's largest non-bank lender.

    Our client has a newly created opportunity in the Vancouver office as Associate Director or Director, Commercial Mortgages opportunity within their industry leading commercial finance team.

    We are seeking an experienced and engaging commercial mortgage industry Leader with a background in commercial underwriting, CMHC deal execution and team management to help drive the team to a new level of success.

    Please note this is not an Origination role, but will be top level support for the origination leaders. *CMHC EXPERTISE IS REQUIRED.


    SUMMARY:

    The Director contributes to the production and development of the commercial mortgage portfolio by analyzing financial and supporting documents on incoming applications and ensuring information is consistent with internal, insurer and investor policies.

    The role is specific to CMHC, construction and conventional commercial real estate financing requests.


    Abbreviated Activities:

    Support the AVPs increasing income and company profitProvide oversight & support to team Analysts, including reviewing underwriting, credit applications and loan commitments.

    Run transactions from start to finish and problem solve through any complex matters.
    Work directly with clients and prospects to gather due diligence, advance relationships and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions.
    Make decisions on advancement of loan opportunities, complex structuring and credit.

    Analyze financial information on commercial properties including rent rolls, operating statements and financial/net worth statements, to assist management in determining the appropriate loan size, terms, conditions and pricing.

    Review third party reports including appraisal, phase I/II environmental reports and engineering reports, to determine compliance with investor requirements, product lending and guidelines and loan terms and conditions.

    Review conditions and exception requests and prepare recommendations to credit/investors.


    Prepare loan summaries:
    financial analysis & credit documents to assist in loan approval processCoordinate with Funder, Investor, Legal, and third-party consultants to ensure loan conditions are metCoordinate with clients, prepare Letters of Interest and Commitment LettersDevelop and analyze construction/development pro-forma of various multi-unit housing type projectsMonitor on-going construction loan draws, cross-referencing budgets

    • Monitor pending and approved loans and any corresponding feesAssist in training and mentorship of other team members

    Your Experience:
    Must have 5+ years commercial lending experience and CMHC deal execution:CMHC underwriting, CMHC applications/submissions, and CMHC funding/post-approval requests.

    Commercial Underwriting/Analyst backgroundAnalyst / UW Team management experienceKnowledge of commercial real estate lending regulations (must have)Experience in financial analysis (i.e.

    balance sheet, income statement)Experience communicating with clients, appraisers, engineers, lawyers, consultants, investors and/or credit committees.
    Strong understanding of legal documentation, ownership structures and AML requirementsPreferred experience in CMHC and/or construction finance, development industry, private equity, cost consulting, or accounting with a commercial mortgage focusIf you have the required leadership, drive and commercial lending experience, please respond with resume to
