- Order Management (creation, distribution and follow up)
- Item Management (sku and pricing creation and maintenance)
- Sample Management (ordering and back shop setup)
- Building and maintaining good vendor relations
- Communications with logistics and stores and required
- Procurement of reporting for vendor inquiries
- Understand and effectively use company's information systems relevant to buying
- Special projects as required
- Internal: Members of the Allocation, Merchandising, Operations (Stores), Logistics, and Finance Teams
- External: Vendors
- 1-2 years retail experience
- College diploma in Business Administration/Merchandising or a related field
- A results driven, self starter with demonstrated passion for buying & a desire to learn
- Strong communication skills with an attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team or independently
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritize, and multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of JDA an asset

Responsibilities:
Red Apple Stores ULC is looking for a Category Assistant - Softlines to join our team. This is a 12-18 month contract.
The Category Assistant is responsible for supporting the Category Manager in all areas that encompass both Financial and Merchant strategies to deliver on key matrix of sales, profit, turnover and inventory.
