Purpose of Role:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising and leading local operations and service teams, including warehousing and service shop, while ensuring excellent customer service.

Through a well-established relationship with the local customers, they will drive sustained business and retain customer loyalty.

They should be able to demonstrate the ability to influence and demonstrate corporate-wide leadership skills, including project leadership, mentoring and coordination of team members, along with effectively interacting with all levels of staff and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus Area: Represent Weir with local clients, while acting as a role model to sales and service team, proactively identifying solutions to problems or issues reported by the customers and/or other colleagues within the company.
  • Focus Area: Plan and support onsite and offsite maintenance work, including overall planning for each job, identifying parts and tools needed, and manpower scheduling. This includes site and customer visits as needed to address customer concerns or to gather information on projects when required.
  • Focus Area: Work with Inside sales and Shipper/Receiver to make sure On Time Delivery targets are met and collect and analyze inventory data to ensure adequate availability of inventory to support the business needs in the area.
  • Focus Area: Conduct Safety meetings and JSA's with field service technician and ensure that all required training is provided to direct reports for their positions.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Technical Degree or Diploma in a relevant field, ideally with a mechanical (Millwright, Engineering, Technologist, etc.) focus.
  • Experience in mineral processing, rotating equipment or with prior exposure to severe duty market segments.
  • 10 to 15+ years of combined experience in performing and managing service and operations functions of engineered pumping equipment and packaged solutions, or other engineered industrial equipment used in the mining sector.
