Contract Human Resources Assistant

VP, People, Talent and Culture


HOURLY RATE:
Commensurate with experience


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

As part of the Human Resources Department, this position will mainly support the VP, People, Talent and Culture with administrative support.

In addition, the position will support Equity, Diversity and Inclusiveness initiatives and assist with employee engagement activities.


MAJOR DUTIES:


  • Coordination support for employee engagement activities including but not limited to; organizing events, sitting on committees and assisting with event logistics
  • Minute taking for several TNG committees and HR team meetings.
  • Responsible for the creation of new hire employee files.
  • Data entry into HRIS systems as required.
  • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process as needed.
  • Assist with filing and documentation management as required.
  • Assist with HR projects as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings and regular staff meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties, appropriate to the position, as required.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management is an asset.
  • Minimum 6 months of related professional HR experience.
  • Experience assisting with employee engagement and event planning activities is an asset.
  • Prior experience in taking meeting minutes is an asset.
  • Experience with HRIS Databases (UKG and ADP) considered an asset.
  • Experience in not for profit and/or union environments is an asset.
  • Experience in a health care setting considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to enter large quantities of data in an efficient manner while also maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to travel between GTA locations as required.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in MS Office Programs, MS Teams and Zoom
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • The physical strength and ability to undertake frequent light to moderate lifting, and frequent walking, bending, stretching and pulling.
  • Sensitivity and experience working with individuals from diverse, multicultural, economic backgrounds.
  • The willingness and flexibility to alter work schedules and regular duties to accommodate the needs of the department and/or the Agency.
  • Must be punctual and reliable (arriving at work on time consistently and prepared).

Part-time

Part-time hours: 35 per week


Salary:
$43,000.00 per year
